There is a feeling every payday brings — a small dinosaur, looking up, watching something terrible arrive on schedule. Meet Oh Shit, The Economy: the meteor is coming, and so is the rent.
The joke, decoded
It pairs the biggest extinction event in history with the tiny, recurring extinction event that is your monthly bills. A dinosaur staring down a meteor is exactly the face we make when the salary lands and immediately leaves.
The meteor is coming. So is the rent.
It is doom, but make it funny and shared. In an era of headlines about recessions and rising everything, laughing together at the tiny apocalypse of adulthood is basically survival. We are all the dinosaur now.
Why we joke about being broke
Money stress is universal and endless, so we cope the only sustainable way — together, out loud, with jokes. Laughing at the tiny apocalypse of rent day makes it lighter. Economy is that shared, slightly panicked grin.
"Broke, but this tee is worth it. Somehow."
— one small, worried dinosaurThe design philosophy
Take a cosmic catastrophe and shrink it down to your bank app. Brainsick loves the contrast between the enormous and the mundane — the meteor and the rent, same face.
Who it is for
Everyone with rent, bills, and a payday that vanishes on arrival. Students, young professionals, and anyone side-eyeing their bank balance. If adulthood feels like watching the sky, this is your tee.
How to wear it
Casual and commiserating. Oversized over jeans is easy; four colourways for every stage of financial dread. Heavyweight cotton — a solid investment, unlike everything else this year.

Okay, but is it a good t-shirt?
A funny tee that dies in three washes is just sad laundry. So Extinction-Level Recession is built on the same base as everything we make: 240 GSM super-combed cotton, heavyweight and oversized so it drapes instead of clinging, with a crack-resistant print that outlives the joke. The full breakdown: what 240 GSM actually means.
