He's the face of a billion-dollar franchise, he's been electrocuting bad guys since the 90s, and he has never once seen a pay bump. Meet Pikachu Needs a Raise — the most relatable underpaid icon in the world.
The joke, decoded
Pikachu does the most dangerous job in the Pokémon world for what appears to be exposure and snacks. Decades of loyal, high-voltage service, no HR, no overtime. If that doesn't feel familiar, you've never had a job.
25,000 volts of effort. Zero raises.
It's a beloved character carrying a very real, very modern grievance — being wildly essential and still underpaid. Wearing it is half joke, half quiet union rally. Pikachu deserves better. So do you.
Why "underpaid" humour unites everyone
Complaining about pay is the one workplace joke that crosses every industry — nobody feels adequately compensated, and that shared grievance is oddly bonding. Pikachu turns it into something cute enough to wear and pointed enough to mean.
"Relatable. Still waiting on that raise."
— an electric, exhausted mouseThe design philosophy
Take the world's most wholesome character and hand him a very unwholesome economic reality. Brainsick loves the contrast — adorable face, brutally relatable caption.
Who it's for
The overworked and underpaid, which is to say, almost everyone. Corporate warriors, freelancers, interns running on "great experience." Wear it to work. Let management read it slowly.
How to wear it
Office-adjacent comfort. Oversized over jeans is casual-Friday coded; five colourways from subtle to statement. Heavyweight cotton that works harder than your last appraisal acknowledged.

Okay, but is it a good t-shirt?
A funny tee that dies in three washes is just sad laundry. So Pikachu Needs a Raise is built on the same base as everything we make: 240 GSM super-combed cotton, heavyweight and oversized so it drapes instead of clinging, with a crack-resistant print that outlives the joke. The full breakdown: what 240 GSM actually means.
